Current research:

My present areas of research cover aspects on early language acquisition by monolinguals, bilinguals and trilinguals, mainly the acquisition of Romance and Germanic languages as well as code-switching in a generative perspective. Of a great interest are those linguistic areas with an asymmetric behavior between Romance and Germanic languages, such as copula and auxiliary systems, adjective placement, Root infinitives, pro-drop vs. non-pro-drop.

Other areas of research:

  • Syntactic variation, complexity, parameterization and change.
  • Acquisition of Romance languages as L2 and L3.
  • Psycholinguistics, particularly by bilingual and trilingual children.
