Born in April 1983 in Barcelona, in 2001, I obtained my High School Diploma and started a degree (Licenciatura) on English studies at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), which after one year I complemented with German studies as a minor field of study. By the end of 2004, I enrolled in the Erasmus program and left Barcelona at first for two years and settled in Bochum, in the heart of the Ruhr area (West Germany), in order to continue my studies at the Ruhr Universität Bochum (RUB). By the end of 2006, I returned to Barcelona and completed my studies. Thanks to a scholarship financed by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Spanish savings bank La Caixa, I could start my second stay in Germany with the aim to start my doctorate studies in Romance linguistics at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Natascha Müller. In 2012 I got my PhD on Romance linguistics with summa cum laude under the title La selección copulativa y auxiliar: las lenguas romances (español - italiano - catal$aacute;n - francés) y el alemán en contacto. Su adquisición en niños bilingües y trilingües (published in 2013 by Narr Verlag, Tübingen).

From 2009 to 2013 I have been working as a scientific officer in a research project on code-switching by early bilinguals born and raised in Germany, Italy, France and Spain with German-Romance and Romance-Romance language combinations. The project has been funded by the German Research Foundation DFG and has been supervised by Prof. Dr. Natascha Müller.

Since 2009 I have also had the opportunity to teach several linguistic courses for beginners and advanced students at the Romance seminar (Bergische Universität Wuppertal). For more information about the nature of past and current courses, please see the section Teaching.
